Happy New Decade!
We hope everyone rang in the new year (and new decade!) safely and with lots of fun. Here's a snapshot or two (or 38) of our day.
Katelyn and I went to the library in the morning to return some books, and stumbled upon the library's Noon Year's Eve celebration at the auditorium next door. I had no idea it was even happening! So we got in line, got two of the last tickets, and miraculously got front row seats to see the Salida Circus!
Well, geez, don't look so happy about it.
Ok, that's better!
The circus starts!
Katelyn is chosen to volunteer on stage!
Here she is introducing herself.
Looks like the circus has forgotten all it's animals, so the kids are helping out!
There's my tiger!
Or is she a leopard? With a zebra tail? I don't know.
Here are the animals performing their first trick - playing dead.
Well, all the animals except the giraffe and the tiger/leopard/zebra (or is she a cheetah?)
Luckily, she did remember her other trick...
...jumping over a rope.
Nice job, tiger/leopard/chee... whatever you are!
Then it was time for the circus parade
And the countdown to 12:00 noon, which seemed to piss Katelyn off for some reason.
But once she was out of her costume, she was ready to celebrate!
And make some noise!
Lots and lots and LOTS of noise...
Later that night, we went to Jeremy and Melissa's to ring in the new year.
Midnight? Who cares!
(By the way, Nicholas did stay awake to see the ball drop!)
Happy New Year everyone!!
Later that night, we went to Jeremy and Melissa's to ring in the new year.
Katelyn and her future husband, Nicholas. At least that's what she keeps telling us.
The kids were watching a movie upstairs and Katelyn came down to tell us that Nicholas had fallen asleep.
At 9:11.
He was trying SO hard to stay up until midnight!
After his quick little catnap, we played some Wii.
Melissa and Katelyn
(By the way, Nicholas did stay awake to see the ball drop!)
Happy New Year everyone!!
