First T-Ball Game! (Or "Playing In The Dirt")

Katelyn
Last weekend was Katelyn's first T-ball game.
"Wha?"
The gray team is running drills while the Broomfield Bombers "practice" (i.e. play in the dirt) before the game begins.
The game is about to begin, and Coach puts Katelyn at third base.
"Is this third base?"
Yes, but you should really be facing the other way.
First hit of the game - third baseman Katelyn goes running after the ball with the rest of her team.
Coach Kenny: "What are you guys doing?"
Katelyn: "Kicking the dirt."

"Throwing the dirt."
"Sniffing my glove."
"Hey, look! My belly button!"
The gray team are a little more focused. They line up like this for every batter and wait for the ball.
One of them catches it and they all rush to first base.
Sometimes it gets a bit crowded, but it's a good team effort.

Katelyn hits!
Safe!
Hello there, Number 9.
Hey, wait a minute...
Are you trying to hold my daughter's hand, Number 9?!?
Run away, Katelyn! Run away!
(But stop at second base.)
Katelyn runs toward home!
Then slows down and very gently steps on the plate. Hey, a run is a run, right?
These guys had absolutely no idea how the "high-five-good-game" lineup thing was supposed to work. They all just kind of stood there. There was no winner - each player hit and ran the bases, regardless of whether or not they were tagged out. Good game, kids!
The gray team may have played better...
...but the Bombers? They had more fun!!

I have never laughed so hard in my life! Your comments on Katelyn's T-ball game are hilarious! Glad she is having so much fun. I didn't know that Kenny is coaching her team - how did he land that gig?
One of the coaches was out of town that week, so Kenny was just helping out. He said it was a lot of fun and very frustrating, haha!
