First Day of Kindergarten!

Katelyn
What? Kindergarten?? Wasn't she just a baby, like, yesterday? How did this happen?!
Kindergarten!!
However it happened, Katelyn's first day of school was Monday.
And yes, her arm is splinted. She broke it. Again. This time she fell off her friend's scooter.
Oh my, she looks so grown up!
(Sniff, sniff...)
She was SO excited to go to school!
Walking to school. Little girls with big backpacks are so stinking cute!
Her school!
Katelyn and our neighbor, Sam. It was nice to see a familiar face!
Here she is walking into class, a little scared. Oh, that face!!!
Here she is after school with her teacher, Mrs. Kort.
(Completely overexposed, I know...)
With the boys after school.
I'm not sure what she thinks of school yet. She says it's boring and she hasn't learned anything, but she really seems to love going, she loves her teacher, and especially loves music class. She's the first one in the door, with barely a look or a wave for me!
It's been a good first week! But it looks like she'll be having her second first day of kindergarten tomorrow.
Over the summer, we looked into sending her to a brand new charter school, Prospect Ridge Academy. We tried to enroll her, but were told that all the kindergarten spots were filled and Katelyn was #60 on the wait list. I didn't really think much about it after that, assuming there was no way she'd get in. Well on Friday, I got an email saying that there was a spot open and we were in the top 8 of the wait list. What?! So after a weekend of agonizing over the decision of whether or not to move her, Katelyn was offered the spot today, and we've accepted! We're really excited, this is a fantastic school, and it's a really great opportunity for Katelyn.

More first day of kindergarten pictures (at her new school) to come!

How is her new school? I bet she is so very happy there, CO has some seriously awesome charter schools.
